The Bronze-Age Minoans of Santorini had indoor plumbing! Stone benches in lavatories covered clay pipes for drainage connecting homes to city sewers beneath streets of flagstone.
The photograph is from the ruins of Akrotiri in Santorini. This section of the city sewer was underneath Telchines Road.
An advanced civilization covered in volcanic ash, is it any wonder Santorini is linked to the Lost City of Atlantis?
